Education is an essential element in any country's growth. Particularly, college education always provides an opportunity and paves a future for the students who attend college. College gives student shot to their careers. Some decades ago, college was perceived to be stringently for the high and elite class Americans. But in most recent, college seems to a typical household for at least for every family. But as the cost of economy bites and hardship in assessing financial access, there has been an increase in rates of some students dropping out of college. In most recent, a college education has been of significant because the country's future solely depends on the going to college. Attending to college acts as a bridge to a fruitful future. Some think that the purpose of college is to offer financial help and security to a person hence making him reputation remarkable (Appiah, What is the point of college). Others feel that college will provide them the opportunity to have a competitive edge when they graduate in the workforce. But I believe that college is a school, hence, it has always been for learning. Thus, the purpose of college is to give students some knowledge. The only complicated part is what other people decide to do with that education.

The purpose of college is misunderstood by many including the incoming freshmen. Most of the billboards and television advertisements buoy up students to get admitted to the college for them to earn from advertisement levies. Equally, most parents tell their children that the purpose of college is to offer them a shot at success after graduation. With all manner of things feeds on these students concerning the mission of the college, most of them find it hard to cope with college when they join and realize that what they were being told is fiction and not a reality. It should be noted that college is not cut for every individual. It is documented that more students drop out of school because they are overwhelmed with all that takes place in college. The pressure on one side to amaze parents and on the other to maintain a good GPA often grasp many students. It makes some even freak out from attending class and work frequently (Carlson, How to Assess the Real Payoff of a College Degree).

Fifty years ago, the purpose of college was so popular. Most people did attend exclusively to learn, improve the level of education, and hoping to acquire a good career after graduation. Now it is seen that people don't know the purpose of college. Some attend because their siblings or girlfriends go there. Thus, it should be recognized that college is a school where students go to learn. It should be defined as a learning place. Its primary purpose is to equip learners with sufficient knowledge to enable them to cope with the outside world. What ought to be crystal to everyone is that college does not purpose on what you do with that education after your graduation.

The purpose of college is to provide students with an education that will enrich them with knowledge. The college does not purpose to follow on what such an individual will become after graduation. But I believe that such knowledge acquired through college will give the graduates the opportunity to be victorious in life, financially and even morally depend on the goals they have set. Every student is entitled to any program of choice in college. It is this course that they specialize will enable them to earn a degree (Appiah, What is the point of college). The particular decision of an individual joining college positions him or her an excellent opportunity to pursue a degree that will allow him after graduation to land a good job that pays so well. Therefore, this should never be misinterpreted to be the purpose of college. Getting a job after campus and earning so well after getting employed is a personal objective and not the goal of the college. The reality is college is a place that transforms boys to men. College is seen to be a place where students' course of life is prepared. This preparation is what equips them with life knowledge.

The extensive knowledge acquired in college aids the students to become more intelligent in almost all the spheres of life. The kind of intelligence gained in college I higher than that one that was picked up from high school. Hence, this information is what is attributable to helping one in attaining a quality and better life after graduating. For this reason, college is purposed to impart on an individual the necessary attributes and skills to soften the life they live. College can also be deemed to arm learners with the capabilities of solving a problem and coming up with solutions that are viable and amicably. Through these techniques of solving problems and decision making, an individual can easily avoid some disagreements from certain quarters. Hence, college is attributed to nurturing students who can lead a life that is trouble-free.

Apart from imparting students with sufficient knowledge, the college is purposed to providing them with a serene environment and opportunity to socialize. Socializing in college will help them create new friends that will be of aid in the future. As they interact, these students will learn one another's culture. Thus, the college gives these students an environment that to learn one another's culture, embrace the diversity that exists in between them and remove all the stereotypes that might be associated with these different cultures. Apart from culture and knowledge, college is purposed with giving these students who enroll in them a field where they will put into practice co-curricular activities such as sports (Appiah, What is the point of college). Talented students will put to the test their abilities in various sports hence nurturing their career in games.

On the contrary of the above, some academicians have arguably stated that the purpose of college is to provide opportunities to the learners to earn a good job (Carlson, How to Assess the Real Payoff of a College Degree). They believe that after college, students will be able to create sufficient income after graduating. They go on affirming that college accentuates students with the necessary resources that are valuable in opening new opportunity in the workforce. College provides for the more connections that are gathered throughout their college career. Options that are rendered by college experience will enable them to stand a chance in their start of job seeking. They believe that once an individual has gotten hold of a job and kicked start their careers, the purpose of education does not stall there. They tend to think that after college, what you earn as a graduate will help one in the new job get an opportunity to get a promotion. But all these arguments are necessary, does not weigh any weight to the purpose of college.

It is important to note that attending college or purpose of college does not start and end using getting a job. The mission of college should be of insignificant from numerous viewpoints. College is purposed with creating educated individuals who possess intellectual curiosity and not the creator of jobs (Appiah, What is the point of college). Never at no point should college be intended from the business standpoint. In no circumstances can be the dream of creating generations of students who are smart with mind power of supercomputers. In its place, the purpose of college is designed in a way to offer an alternative of the above statement. College is purposed to provide sufficient knowledge that in the long run can be used and applied in various sectors to solve multiple problems.

All in all, the purpose of education is to help students realize a bright future coupled with a quality life. Education is the most critical element in any country's growth. Particularly, college education always provides an opportunity and paves a future for the students who attend college. The purpose of college is to provide students with an education that will enrich them with knowledge. The college does not purpose to follow on what such an individual will become after graduation. It should be known that college is a school where students go to learn. It should be defined as a learning place. Its primary purpose is to equip learners with sufficient knowledge to enable them to cope with the outside world. I believe that college is a school is a center for learning. Thus, the purpose of college is to give students some knowledge, but the only complicated part is what these people decide to do with the education they have acquired.
