The current investigation seeks to examine the gender equality issues and specifically if Hispanic women equally enjoy the workplace as their males colleagues (O'Dwyer and Bernauer, 2013). It is argued that Hispanic women often face challenges at the workplace and cannot behave freely like their male counterparts. These women still various cultural challenges that impose some restrictions on the female gender. This study highlights these challenges to make conclusions about the study and recommend some solutions to counter these problems.
A review of the theories shows that there is a general disparity in access to opportunities for men and women (Balnaves and Caputi, 2001). While men find it easy to find jobs, women struggle in the job market since most of the structures and policies in place in these labor industries favor men as compared to women. This is the primary cause of the inequalities at the workplaces where the number of men is far much higher than that of women.
The review notes that even though there are minor differences between the abilities of men and women to work, most employers prefer working with men more than women. The negotiations for gender equality is therefore rendered fruitless given this mentality (Balnaves and Caputi, 2001). However, communal bargaining programs have been established to help drive in gender equality at work. More studies are being conducted in this area of study to further establish the issues perpetrating gender equality at the workplace and ways to tackle this issue.
To quantitatively find out the gender equality issues at the workplaces, it is necessary that the researcher uses quantitative tools of collecting such data (Thomas, 2003). This study needs to make use of a research questionnaire that is developed to collect quantitative data that from the respondents of the study. Firstly, there is need to identify the specific respondents of the study and this is done using the quantitative procedures.
From the entire population, the study will sample out some of the most relevant participants to take part (Balnaves and Caputi, 2001). From the many organizations employing Spanish women, the researcher will conduct a simple random sampling technique to select 10 firms. Out of the 10 participating firms, the study will proceed to select 100 employees as respondents. The research will use both stratified samplings to identify the department that the employees work and a further simple random sampling to select the respondents (Thomas, 2003). There will be 10 stratas representing the departments of the organization where the researcher will pick 10 respondents from each stratum to arrive at 1000 respondents to take part in the study.
The researcher will prepare quantitative multiple choice questions where the respondent will simply be required to tick the appropriate choice from among the given alternatives (O'Dwyer and Bernauer, 2013). The respondents will be issued with the questionnaires, given instructions on how to fill them and allowed a period of three days to fill them after when the researcher will collect the filled questionnaires.
The data will then be coded into computer-aided statistical soft wares such SPSS for analysis (Balnaves and Caputi, 2001). The software will allow easy and fast manipulation of statistical data since the researcher simply commands the computer to execute different statistical calculations such as mean, median, standard deviation, skewness, kurtosis and any other required statistic. The findings will then be presented in form of tables and graphics.
