I understand that social work aims to assist and help people who are not capable of helping themselves or do not have the necessary recourses to help themselves.

The social worker covers many areas of communities. Jane Adams is just one of the many that made a significant impact and paved the way for the social worker. Her movement with settlement house helped the poor immigrants open the door for social reform that continues to this day. The history of social worker helped develop the quality of life for the poor. The evolvement of social work helped from the knowledge base, empirical research and theoretical framework and practical wisdom to advance practice.

Understand and can describe the five helping stages/problem-solving process.

The five stages of helping states /problem-solving process support the social facilities the needs of the client are identified. Intake and engagement in this stage involve the social establishment a relationship with the client and what they are. Therefore, this stage is a crucial step if a social workers engagement is not successful in the first session, it could potentially increase the chances of the client not coming back.

The second stage is assessment the social working is gathering more information about the client. The social works must make sure that they collect all critical information such as the initial problem, strengths, their feelings, goals, action, and concerns. In the third-stage planning and contracting, the social worker and the client have to establish a realistic target. This helps to identify obstacles if any and in this stage the social and the client develop a treatment plan.

In the fourth-stage, treatment and intervention take place after the social worker, and the client has formed an agreeable plan. Accountable, specific tasks are put in place, and they usher in the fifth stage which involves evaluation and termination (Colby & Dziegielewski, 2004). The social worker assesses the client's progress and barriers during this juncture, and the client completes the plan of action that was set up.

Understands the three levels of social work.

I understand the three levels of social work. It is crucial to understand various levels of social work which are there and how these levels vary from each other. In a practical environment, social work is split into three distinct groups which incorporate: macro, mezzo, and micro (Fink, Pfouts, Dobelstein & Abels, 1985). The macro level will entail intervening on a massive scale which will change many people and not one person. The micro social work level is the most popular form of practice, which entails doing work in close collaboration with a person or friends and family. The mezzo level comes right in between the macro and micro levels and requires doing work with more small groups and establishments.

Identify the social worker at each level of practice.

I can understand the social worker at the three divisions of practice (macro, mezzo, and micro) levels. These three levels of social work practice in some instances interact and usually have an impact on each other, so it is necessary to comprehend the variations involving these social work techniques (Fink, Pfouts, Dobelstein & Abels, 1985).

Understands and can articulate core social work and mission and values.

I understand that my main obligation is to promote the contentment of customers. My accountability to the greater contemporary society or special legal commitments may on limited situations supersede the devotion owed clients, and clients must be so informed. (Colby & Dziegielewski, 2004)

Can recognize and illustrate elements of the NASW Code of Ethics.

I understand well that the NASW Code of Ethics is meant to function as a guideline to the day-to-day specialist conduct of social workers.

Can identify ethical dilemmas and tools or actions to help resolve them.

I understand that social work individuals frequently get themselves in ethical dilemmas whenever they recognize contending values and contending loyalties (Colby & Dziegielewski, 2004). For instance, the principles of self-determination may clash with a responsibility of proper care, contending interests from various members of a team which a social worker is carrying out the job with, and discord involving well being of one particular person and welfare of the vast majority.

Understands the value of ethical reflection.

I completely understand the importance of ethical reflection, and I focus on some significant problems: moral models, ethical dilemma situations, personal values and principles, and corporate and business social responsibility.
