History of Joseph Stalin - Biography Example

Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin was one of the people who were important in the history of the U.S after 1945.Stalin was born on 18th December 1878 in Gori, Russian empire and died in the year 1953.He was a Soviet revolutionary and a great political leader. Stalin acted as the dictator of the Soviet Union from the 1920s till the time of his death (Stone et al., 2014).

From 1922 to 1952 Stalin acted as the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the communist party of the Soviet Union. He was later made to be the premier of the Soviet Union. While he was young, he was a member of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party where he helped in editing its newspaper and also helped Vladimir Lenins to raise funds which resulted in him getting arrested several times due to robbery and cases of kidnapping. Stalin consolidated power during the Russian civil war period and helped in the formation of the Soviet Union. Stalin assisted in the transformation of the country from an agrarian society to an industrialized power country. Through Stalins help, the world war two in Europe came to an end after the Soviet Red Army had halted the incursion of the Germans and capturing Berlin in 1945.The two super powers of the world were considered to be the Soviet Union together with the United States. Stalin helped in the reconstruction of the country after the end of the cold war through the initiation of land projects and other major construction (Stone, 2010)

In conclusion, Stalin is one of the great people remembered in the 20th century. Stalin led to the influence of the two groups that is the Leninist and the Marxist. He was a great wartime leader who resulted in the establishment of the Soviet Union which was considered as a superpower. After his death, Nikita Khrushchev succeeded Stalin.
