The best research priority from the given list of research priorities in line with my interest is the identification of the personal and professional characteristics most critical to the leadership of health care organizations such as accountable care organizations, health care homes, medical homes and clinics. As a family nurse practitioner dealing with family patients as well as working with these patients their whole life identification of personal and professional characteristic in line with the field is the priority one needs to possess different personality characteristics which enable them to form tight relationships with the families as well as professional characteristics. This research priority focuses on the finding out more of the personal as well as the professional characteristics which are expected from a leader or which are crucial in the leadership of different health care organizations such as accountable care organizations or health care homes. ACO are groups of health care givers who come together voluntarily to give coordinated care to their Medicare patient (Rose et al., 2014).

There are a number of advantages of associated with the chosen research priority and the first being helping in making decisions associated with the right selection of the appropriate leaders in the nursing field. The research priority of identification of personal and professional characteristics that are critical to the leadership of ACOs among the rest ensures that the picked leaders have the required professional as well as personal characteristics well researched upon. Another advantage associated with the research priority is the exposure to more information in relation to professional characteristics as well as personal characteristics. Leaders exhibit different characteristic which makes them suitable for a different leadership role. A leader with characteristics that do not match with the role they are supposed to take mean a wrong selection which in return affects the entire department under them. In our case AOC leaders, health care homes, medical homes and clinics require some personal leadership characteristics, for example, AOC would require nurse willing to be a volunteer and more will be required from them hence there are some personal characteristics that much with such requirement, for family nurse practitioner so much is required of them in line with their profession. The main challenge with the provided research priority is that it is subject to human error (Rose et al., 2014). Different characteristics of a person can change faced by different circumstances. This can lead to a random error or unpredictability of the human character.

Different articles have covered the research priority although in different perspectives, The new leadership challenge: Creating the future of nursing is one article which covers the current situation the nursing sector is facing. The different changes in what is expected from the nurses require changes in the way they have been operating and for this to be achieved leaders in the sector need to adapt to change and fast. Nurturing young leaders should be key in the nursing sector who are in a position to lead and make policies which are effective in line with the patient health care and the health care providers. The article covers on different research on observing personal characteristic in the selection of leaders and professional characteristic as well (Grossman & Valiga, 2016).

Another article is Transformational leadership in nursing: towards a more critical interpretation. The article embraces the fact that different leaders have different characteristics which determine their weaknesses as leaders and their strengths as well. The process of picking the right leaders determine the future of the nursing sector under the leader, especially in policy making. Leaders are not chosen just because they can lead but they are chosen depending with their professional characteristics in line with the position they will be in charge of (Hutchinson & Jackson, 2013).

If the research in the sector is well covered this means that different sectors will have leaders who exhibit full interest in their sectors. This will facilitate policy making in the sector and precisely made decisions in the sector due to the professional characteristics displayed by the leader.
