A girl aged eight years has been found to be violent and aggressive of late. An assessment will be done by answering the following question to know what could be the cause for this.

Family case analysis-engagement

Question 1

The child has posttraumatic stress disorder, which results due to physical and emotional abuse. The family members have played a significant role on this since they had a violent scenario while children are watching, which at the end involved them.

Question 2

It has come to my knowledge that despite the situation being caused by physical and emotional abuse, it can also be hereditary.

Family assessment

Question 1

The situation requires deeper evaluation to this problem before coming up with the solution.

Question 2

The assumptions of human and social behavior here are aggressiveness and violence, which requires determining whether they are hereditary or not.

Question 3

If this case is delved deeper, many other issues will emerge such as; maybe the grandmother could be acting violently to the child at home especially when disciplining her. This could be a reason to why she does not want to go home after school.

Question 4

The information given does not explain how she stays at home and the relationship she has with other members of the family, particularly her siblings. That is the data I need, to explain why she likes playing with her friend at school rather than going home.

Question 5

The family members have so many differences that are causing them to stay away from one another. Children are the only thing uniting them and the only reason which can make them comply with the request.

Question 6

Since everyone lives his or her own life, I know it will not be easy for them to work together with me. Thus, first I will have to show them the importance of their presence and contributions to the well-being of the child.

Question 7

The assessment has involved a wide range of information from the family background to the current situation. However, the data provided is not enough, thereby making it challenging to define the general goals which are the solutions to these problems.

Question 8

Structural factionalism and symbolic interactionism are the theories to be used in this case. They entail daily interactions explaining ones understanding of the social life (Gal, et al. 2017). Also, they describe social institutions such as primary family terms of the roles they play.

Question 9

Planning for the family

Question 1

The general goals in working with this family are to ensure members are united and start living together again.

Question 2

When they get united and start living together, children will get the attention and affection they require, and as a result, it will speed up the healing process preventing such problems from occurring on the rest of the children.

Question 3

Everyone involved in this case should cooperate, in order for the goals to be achieved quickly.

Question 4

The use of program effects will be essential on this part, for they will test the links between the program and the observed effects showing the achievements as well as the progress.
