Research conducted recently indicates that cats are no longer animals that are kept at home only to catch mice. According to Terry Gross, cats are nowadays being treasured and treated as adorable creatures which can snuggle with people to beds. Therefore, the group interviewed to determine how people perceive human-cat relationship. The interview was carried in various households, with veterinarians and pet associations so that there can be a clear understanding of domestic cat behavior. The interview drew the following question questions and answers.
Interviewee: people living with cats love them, and they believe that cats love them too, but some expert's cats don't love people they stay with. Why is the controversy, why do some people have no faith in cat-human love? Can HRI program perform the same function?
Respondent: cats are less demonstrative compared to other animals like dogs. They are less demonstrative because the evolved from wolfs, a solitary group of animals with no social sophisticated repertoire. Therefore, cats tend to have love nature with human beings. A well develops HRI program that almost operates like a human being can perform the program.
Interviewee: some experts believe that human-robotic interaction HRI can be used to help in adoption of cats. How can this be possible?
Respondent: the robots should be designed to function exactly like human hence the cats can just feel completely relaxed with them (Lazar, 2016).
Interviewee: what can you can we derived from purr responses from the cats?
Respondent: the purr can be said to be a sign of comfort as well as commitment from the cats towards people around them. Additionally, it is also believed that purr from the cat is a signal of sending out the message so that people can do something to them.
Interviewee: how does HRI program ensure that there is smooth domestication of cats so that they can become pets?
Respondent: the HRI program ensures that cat is provided with basic needs like milk and food within adjustable time (Schurer, 2017). Therefore, it acts as time as well as a routine manager.
Interviewee: cats have evolved from solitary and mice catching to become human pet thereby leading to the development of the human-pet relationship. How does HRI program help in this development?
Respondent: HRI program is designed to ensure that the aspects that define how communication is created and maintained by this interaction are all observed.
Interviewee: in the situation that the cat brings you a mouse in the bedroom, how do you go about the problem?
Respondent: in such situation, people must understand that the cat is taking its preys to a safe place where it will decide whether to consume it or not.
Interviewee: concerning the outdoor cats, people have becoming upset by the cats from the neighbors that hunt their birds. The cats either kill or hurt the birds how they can control this situation?
Respondent: the main problems are not the cat pets but rather feral cats that lack owners thereby feed of birds since they are not well and regularly fed.
Interviewee: Dogs have been bred to look after sheep or to hunt. What concern do you have for future cats as well as the traits that they are being raised up for?
Respondent: in the past years, nobody has bred cat for good companion. Therefore, from the look of the thing, cats can only be assured of a better future if people can come up with animals with no hunting needs.
Interviewee: have you at one point regretted having your animals euthanized?
Respondent: No I have never regretted to have the animal euthanized, but there are occasions that I have been too emotional and probably feels that the veterinarian should have euthanized the animals the previous week.
Interviewee: Well, thank you some much for taking your time to talk to us. It has been the pleasure.
Respondents: thanks so much for having me.
